April celebrates National Haiku Day. What is a haiku? It is
a single verse of three short unrhymed lines, like this:
Just five syllables
A longer line of seven
And then back to five
On behalf of Voices
in the Coalshed here is my haiku inspired by the picture above.
Atmosphere heated
The dust has not settled yet
Three miners snapping
Here are two more
haiku responses to the picture.
A rare moment’s rest
Together in our darkness
Waiting for the light
Liz Renshaw
Snaptime! What’s tha’
got?
Bread and jam, bit a
fruit cake
Mucky fat for me
